For the rendering class: And it was nice to work with you as a class this semester, thank you for registering for and sticking with the course; I sincerely hope you learned some things that you will continue to develop and which will help you with your studies and professional work. Just a reminder that I need all of your work from the semester, published to your gallery on the course website, as we discussed in class. I will begin reviewing this work tomorrow, and will check again on Saturday given that we were pushed back a few days due to weather. If all of your work is not published to the course website by midnight on Saturday, it will significantly effect your grade. Please don't email me Sunday or Monday saying "my scanner wouldn't work, or I couldn't figure out what settings to use etc." You have had all semester to practice publishing and asking these questions; I won't even respond to them at this point. I hope you have a safe and fun holiday; I will see most of you next semester. For everyone: Well, this was an unideal way to end the term. I am very sorry about that. A number of questions always come up that I hope to address in this email, some of which are especially apt in this situation. 1. What happens if your drawer wasn't checked back in? Over the next few days Justin and I will be going through the drawers, emptying the contents that aren't ours into sandwich bags that we will mark with the drawer number and name if we know it, and assessing any fees based on missing tools etc. 2. Can I come in a work over the break? With the exception of the seniors, the answer is no. Sorry. 3. Can I come in and work if a senior says OK and gives me the door code? No, unless you are a work study and I know you are working for us, you may not be in the studio for any reason without a faculty member present. Sorry. 4. When can I pick up my work? I will be in the studio, or with a sign posted to direct you to 410, next Wednesday from 12p-5pm to have you pickup your work. If you'd like to pickup your work before or after that, give me a call (my phone # is at the bottom of this email) and we can try to work something out. Because of our unusual circumstances, I will not be putting work (or the stuff that I find around the studio) in the back hallway this year. I will be holding it all in a big box until the beginning of next term, shortly after which I will put it out if it isn't picked up. Please call or get ahold of me if you have any questions. Thank you, and have a great break. _PHIL -- |
